Scene+
various
Our Company uses some of the world's most contemporary scripts from leading writers. Unfortunately we are unable to stage full seasons for many of these scripts, mainly due to cast size or other requirements.
Scene+ however is a unique weekend where we can show selected scenes from a range of contemporary authors, often used in our day-to-day workshops and classes.
Scenes may be from a range of authors and genres with each Scene+ different to the next!
The first Scene+ in 2010 will feature staff from our programme, StageOne and Hagley College. A unique opportunity to see our tutors on the stage.

Buffoon's Birthday
Damien McGrath
This original piece of physical theatre recently had it's premiere season at the Wellington Fringe Festival.
A 50-minute dark comedy Buffoon's Birthday tells the tale of an odd group of masked characters as they gather to celebrate the birthday of their eldest friend. Offering strange and deranged presents the buffoons howl with pleasure as they demonstrate their unique birthday ritual.
While a herald attempts to keep them on track the buffoons have other plans, and a big surprise as their final gift.
Created and directed by StageOne tutor Damien McGrath, presented by Liminal Theatre.
